About The Plough Inn

Fadmoor village green

Overlooking Fadmoor village green, The Plough has built up a reputation for imaginative food served in a traditional environment.  Lovingly restored just a few years ago, the inn has an 18th century feel with its low, beamed ceilings, comfortable wall benches and log fires in winter.  Eat in the bar or in one of several, intimate dining rooms.  Outside, there is a terrace with views over Ryedale and the Wolds.

Neil and Rachael Nicholson have been hosts at The Plough for seven years.  Neil, as Head Chef, has created an extensive and varied menu with meat from local farmers and butchers, fish straight from the quayside and vegetables grown nearby.  He grows his own herbs and salad crops in season.Neil and Rachael Nicholson  Together with his 'behind-the-scenes' team, he places emphasis on presentation and freshness - everything is cooked to order.  Rachael is the 'front of house' partner.  She and her staff provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and first class service.
